About Us.
We are QUnited, and we are here to help.
The pandemic has laid bare many disturbing issues in our world today. It has become apparent that certain groups are more vulnerable than others. Marginalized groups including women, Aboriginals, the LGBTQ community, the poor, and people with disabilities, to name a few, are all being affected differently and taking the brunt of the virus' repercussions. The fact that the virus is so vastly and disproportionately affecting certain communities has highlighted many inequalities for marginalized and vulnerable groups in society.

The image above depicts a tweet from Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo. The tweet, while well-meaning, received a lot of backlash because it failed to accurately represent the disparity in the impact of the COVID-19 virus between marginalized and non-marginalized groups.
Through our blog, we want to bring these inequalities to light and spread awareness that we are not truly 'all in this together'; that some need our help more than others. We need to use the challenges that have come to surface due to the global crisis as an opportunity to rewrite the discriminatory structures that currently exist in our outdated laws, beginning by using our platforms to tell these stories and spread awareness to impose radical change.

Our site's purpose is twofold; to educate the public on the virus' impact on marginalized communities through interviews from members of those communities, and to provide a centralized source of resources for motivate readers to join the movement to provide better treatment for these communities.
